Professional results by design

You get the best results when we can work very closely with you. That’s not just sales “sweet talk;” that’s nearly 30 years of experience talking.

The more we know about you and your world, the better we can apply what we know about the rest of the world.

And what we know about translation can save you a lot of time, money and headaches all down the line.

Step 1: Check your materials before we begin.

Step 2: Quotes and turnaround time.

Step 3: We get the right translator for the job.

Step 4: We deliver the completed work.

Step 1: Check your materials before we begin.

Our clients say we make translation look easy. If we do, it’s because we work really hard to make the process easy and economical for you.

Design

Copy
The best way to avoid repeated translation costs and delays is to tweak and correct copy before you send it for translation. If copy (technical or creative) is awkward or too long in English, the translation is likely to be worse.

Use words the average person can understand. Copy should be universally understood and easy to translate.

Avoid slang and metaphors (for example, sports themes) – they do not translate across cultures. Keep in mind that your audience’s life experiences and values develop in very different environments.

Step 2: Quotes and turnaround time.

Quotes are always free. In most cases, we will provide quotes within 24 hours of receiving the full document to be translated. Confidential documents should be sent via our FTP site for safety and security. Just call us at 1.800.457.4220 (locally 419.865.4374); we’ll set up an easy, secure, password-protected access account just for you.

All translations are quoted by the word.

Establishing a realistic production schedule is essential. Of course, meeting your deadline is always very important. But delivering a quality product is even more important – to us and to you – particularly with a major translation project.

Step 3: We get the right translator for the job.

We work only with professional translators around the world who are native speakers with expertise in the project’s field or industry. We make sure you get the best results by matching the most qualified person with your project.

Glossary
We develop a glossary specific to each client to make sure we use your terms accurately and consistently. A glossary saves you translation time and money:

  1. It helps establish a usage pattern for your organization’s terminology.

  2. It is invaluable for translators, who may not be as familiar with your products or specialized processes as you are.

  3. In English and/or other languages, the definition of the same term can vary from one industry to another.

Once the glossary is approved by you, it will speed every project from then on.

Continuous contact
We assure you: any emphasis in words and phrases in the original document will be there in the translation. If the translator is unsure of something or has questions or concerns, we’ll bring it to your attention.

To make sure our work is accurate and your message is everything you need, we consult with you at every step of the process. The more we work as a team, the better the outcome for you.

Step 4: We deliver the completed work.

Any work we email to you for review will arrive as a pdf. This eliminates any problems with symbols or characters being lost or misread by the receiving software.

When the work is completed, we will send you a hard copy and a digital file on disk.
